Upper School Science & Summer Program Director
After graduating from Missouri State University with my B.S. in Education in 1991 with certification areas of Elementary Education, Middle School Science and Social Studies. I began as a classroom teacher in the public school system in 1992. In 2000, our family relocated to Sydney, Australia. During this time, I had the opportunity to become a private Reading and Math tutor for year six students. Upon returning to the States, I reentered the public school system teaching 7th and 8th grade science. My graduate studies include both Elementary Education and Elementary Administration,
In 2013, I was able to pursue an opportunity outside of education, which I thoroughly enjoyed, but found I missed the classroom. So, in late 2019, I decided it was time to return to where I am happiest, and began the search for a teaching position that would align with my personal educational philosophy - I am very pleased to have found that here at Andrews Academy. I believe intensely in creating a learning environment that allows students to become their most authentic selves while fostering an atmosphere of encouragement, forward thinking curiosity, problem solving & analysis and accountability.
When not teaching, I spend as much time as possible with my grown daughters and my grandchildren.
