I hold an undergraduate degree in History and Library Science from Missouri State University and a Master’s in Library Science with an emphasis in children’s services, technology, and public services. I have over a decade of experience as a children’s librarian in public libraries, working in locations ranging from Wichita, Kansas, to the northern Chicago suburbs. My professional expertise has been featured in the School Library Journal, and I’ve contributed regularly to the American Library Services to Children (ALSC) blog. I’ve also served on numerous book award committees and presented at the Missouri Library Association Conference. After the birth of my son, I realized that working in a school setting would be the best fit for both my family and career—and I’ve truly found my professional home. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, our three cats, and our Golden Retriever, Spaghetti. My personal interests include yoga, spending time in nature, and reading.
