Maria Berry joined Andrews Academy in the fall of 2010, she has taught Spanish to students from Kindergarten to Eighth grade. Mrs. Berry holds Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a teaching major in Natural Science from the University San Antonio Abad del Cusco and the Pedagogical Institute Santa Rosa de Lima, Cusco-Peru.

Born and raised in Cusco, Peru. She moved to the United States in 2004 after meeting her husband; before coming to Andrews Academy she taught chemistry and Secondary Education Science in Cusco, Peru. She loves to share her travel experiences and teach Latin cultural activities with her students.

Mrs. Berry as a second language learner herself uses specific methods to help students excel and develop basic skills that will allow them to further become fluent Spanish speakers. She modifies the curriculum in order to keep the students excited and engaged in the learning process.
