Kindergarten
Laura Doherty has been involved in the education of young children for 23 years. She earned her undergraduate teaching degree at Truman State University (formerly Northeast Missouri State University). She began her teaching career in the Fort Zumwalt School District. She taught kindergarten for four years at Progress South Elementary School and second grade for six years at Twin Chimneys Elementary School. After becoming a mom of two, Laura taught pre-kindergarten at Living Lord Lutheran Preschool, which allowed her the flexibility to stay involved in the school experiences of her own children. Now that her children have grown up, she is back to doing what she loves to do - teaching. She served as an assistant teacher here at Andrews Academy for a semester, and she is currently loving her role as Kindergarten teacher. Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing the excitement in a child's face when they learn something new!
