First Grade
I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1995 with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. Soon after graduating college, my husband and I moved to Oklahoma. During our time in Tulsa, I taught both Kindergarten and First grade. After 23 years in Oklahoma, we moved back to Missouri in 2020. I am thrilled to be continuing my love of teaching first grade at Andrews Academy.
I am passionate about creating an environment that encourages a love for learning. Helping each child progress in all areas of their development is a challenge I am honored to accept. I enjoy building meaningful relationships with my students and teaching them how to read and write. Seeing their faces light up with each new “aha” moment is priceless!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, going out to dinner, vacationing at the beach, watching Netflix, and reading.
